Fisheries New Zealand scholarships are now open to apply for master and undergraduate degree program in the field of marine biology and fisheries sciences in collaboration with the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) in new Zealand

The program is design for students having exceptional academic record and those who are truly interested to make their career in fisheries and marine biology

  • For post graduate students: about $20,000/year
  • For undergraduate degree students: Almost 6 awards of $5000/year

Directions to Apply:

Registration will be required initially in desired program i.e. in bachelors or masters after successful admission at the university; student will be considered for the award and will be informed in case award is granted via email

To apply for these scholarships method are different for post and undergraduate degree program:

For Post graduate Degree:  For proper Applications submission firstly students have to submit expression of their own interest. And then full project proposal is need to submitted

  • Expression of interest should be submitted to science.officer@mpi.govt.nz
  • In case of success, application form will be provided to student where details about project proposal will be submitted

For Undergraduate Degree: Cover letter should  be prepared by student including description of taken courses, planned courses for upcoming year,  student future goals and cover letter with two referees and CV should be submitted at science.officer@mpi.govt.nz

 Requirements:

  •  Eligible Countries:   New Zealand students only
  • Eligible Subjects :  Awards are available in the faculty of marine biology and fisheries
  • Other requirements:
  • Student must be a permanent resident of New Zealand
  • Full time student university
  • Mention if student is also part of any other degree program

 Deadline:

  • Last date to apply for master:   October 3, 2019
  • Last date to apply for undergraduate: November 30, 2019
